One of my first attempts at a story I remember quite vividly. Rather appropriately, it was called "The Vivid Machine" and involved a dragon that materialised from thin air and took me away to a magical world. Needless to say, I didn't get very far with it, but it blew on the smoking charcoal of my budding creativity.
I have always taken great pleasure in creating something from nothing but my imagination. Sometimes I built junk models, sometimes I drew, sometimes I painted and sometimes I wrote. Usually these ideas would merge and fuse, and I used to draw scenes from stories I'd dream up in my head.
It was only until a few years ago that I decided it was about time I sat down and actually finished a project, so that's exactly what I did. Of course it was utter trash, but it was there, and it was completed, all 50 thousand words of it. It inspired me to write even more.
I read. I wrote. I read some more. Always driven by that desire to tell stories of my own. To date I have written two full novels, at least three novels which are nearing completion, a trove of novelettes and dozens of short stories with more being planned and created nearly every day. It's almost like a compulsion to continue to tell these myriad stories.
What do I like to write?
The short answer is...everything!
I like to experiment with my writing, and never feel limited by genres. Having said that, urban fantasy owns my soul and the idea of mythical creatures in a modern setting is endlessly exciting to me. Otherwise I dip into anything from fluffy romance to gory body horror.
